Why WriteRoom?
Your computer is a good place to work. It's also full of distractions. WriteRoom is where you go to write.
I made the first WriteRoom in 2006 as an alternative to Microsoft Word. It filled the screen and got the rest of your computer out of the way. Just words on the page, with a word count to keep you on track.
Twenty years later, distractions have multiplied. WriteRoom 4 is rebuilt from scratch, with Markdown, new themes, and a fast new engine. Its goal hasn't changed: a place at your computer, but away from it.
